What is a good age to start wearing make-up?

My 10 year old cousin keeps wanting to wear make-up. IS ten a good age or should she wait? What is a good age to start wearing make-up?
If she wants to wear make up, go with natural tones for her eyes that look like she is not wearing any. She can however wear lipglosses that have tint like a lipstick, fool her a little. Can I suggest watermelon lipgloss, its by mary kay. A pretty tint and she doesnt have to put on lipstick. Then for foundation, dont worry she will be fine that she has on eyeshadow and lipgloss, and blush, go with a bronzer that marykay also has. it is not foundation or blush but it gives her a glow. And for mascara just on the top lashes to make them look fuller, not the bottom. No eyeliner. She will be happy with the le-way that you give her for now. Tell her every year that she gets older, she can try something new. Like next year, she can try a blush instead of the bronzer. Or when she is 12, she can trylip liner, natural colors to bring out her botton lip only. Not too much and it will go a long way with her.

here is that website for the suggestions: www.marykay.com/ambercornettWhat is a good age to start wearing make-up?
No, 10 is much too young. I'd say lip gloss is OK at 13; more makeup is appropriate (or at least OK) at 15.
10 is when u wear little lip glosses that dont show, rather just to make the girl feel mature of wearing ';makeup';

thats fine

but i think

13 is the appropriate age for a girl to wear light eyeshadows, lipgloss that show a TINY bit, and eyeliner.

16 is the best age to start wearing like ALL OUT makeup such as maskara and foundation and lipsticks and stuff like that.

and Besides, we're still young (im 13) and we dont wanna go walking around wearing tons of makeup, we wanna be free and light and cute!

so i think 13 is the PERFECT age to wear the in-between type of things!

tell ur ';cousin'; that if she wants to wear little lipglosses from sanrio or claires thats alright, but not to get carried away with it!!!

If you take my advice, the brands that i used when i was her age were approved by my VERy strict mom!!

lip smackers is good, and they usually go for only $3.00 for a bunch!

I also had a little hello kitty lipgloss that didnt show!

and good luck!
maybe 15 and older not ten she's too young she doesn't need it.
i dont know

i started when i was eleven but then i kinda felt out of place because noone else did. i would say let her test the waters her self. that what my mom did. she was never told me no you cant do that. i am very responsible and i had time to experament with my make up when i was younger so now i can look good and still where make up
no!! my dad was very strict about wearing makeup and i didn't start with full makeup until i was 13. And then i was only allowed to wear light colors and gloss not lipstick. but it was a good lesson to learn because now i can put it on and it looks like i have none on while enhancing my best features i was even told so by a professional makeup artist. i recommend a light color lip gloss starting at 10 or 11. then the next step would be a light color eye shadow with the gloss and slowly step up from there to full makeup at about 14 or 15 years old. but please make sure that the girl is taught how to put it on properly and in the right amounts so that she wont get made fun of at school.
yes you can let her start wearing light make up not alot
Young girls who wear makeup honestly look ridiculous. I think she is at an age where there might be the pressure to look good from school/media. I would suggest letting her know how beautiful she is so she has a better self perception of herself. Maybe she thinks makeup is the solution to being ';pretty'; when it is far from it.
It really depends on the 10 year-old and what makeup she wants to wear. If you wants to wear some sparkly lip balm or clear mascara, that is probably ok. If she were my daughter, I wouldn't let her start wearing colored make-up until she was in high school (14 or 15 years old).
the earlier you start wearing make-up the worst your complection will be when you get older...
Why does she need to wear make-up? I'm sure at that age her skin is perfect and her eyes are lovely and huge and her hair is shiny because she hasnt started dying it/using a straightening iron. Its probably just coz older girls do and perhaps her friends - only coz it seems 'cool' or whatever.

I dont know why they need to be wearing make up tho - they're kids they shold be playing in the dirt still!! She'll just look silly with it on. Too young, I reckon. Well, too young to be wearing make-up every day. Its lots of fun for dress-ups though.
at 10 i just wore lip-gloss, nail polish, and eye-shadow
I would agree with laura that your cousin should wait 'til 15. However, I think that she could make a trip to a salon to have eyelashes tinted and eyebrows plucked into a neater shape, to satisfy the urge to look prettier, while still remaining natural. And perhaps a few highlights in her hair too.
it's her choice but she will have to pay for it later i think she should start wearing heavy makeup at like 15 but for now she should just use like lip gloss and some clear mascara
i think twelve or thirteen but these days they start doing everything alot younger
Tell her just wear a little lip gloss. That was what I did when I was 10. Tell her to enjoy her natural beauty. Cuz if you start wearing make up young, especially a lot, you would always have to wear make up all the time or you would look pale.
Well i think that it depends on the maturity of the 10 year old. In general i think 13 is a prime age but there are a lot of options like sheer powder and shimmer lip gloss that would give that feeling of wearing make up but wouldn't make them look over done. They make make-up for younger girls, light colors like pinks and purples and blues, just watch how much is being put on. Everyone needs to feel pretty.
I don't think she should start right now, # 1. wearing make-up increases the chance of zits, and she shouldn't have to struggle with zits at such an early age... # 2. she shouldn't have anyone that she needs to please, or satisfy... why the need for make-up. i think people are beautiful the way they were put on this earth...
i dont thin u should wear any
10 is ok for lip gloss and stuff you cant really see dont let her try to do eye liner she might poke her eye out or something may be you should put her makeup on for her and at the age of 13 14 she can start to put make up on but dont ever let her make herself look like a whore shell get a bad name and mostlikely start to dress like one and act like one!!!!!!!
It depends...heavy makeup should be worn only for college students (my opinion).

But I think that lip gloss can be worn at any age, and eyeshadow, blush etc. can be worn if you're like in a play or wedding or something for the younger kids.
I think 13. But when you are that young, you don't need to use a lot, because if you do use a lot, when you get older you will start to get wrinkles, and then you will have to use more make-up, and then you will look cheap.
ahaks! at 10 year old! believe me it is not a suitable age to wear make-up! It will gove side effects(i think) you see,my sisiter friend started to wear make-up at 9 and then her face when she is 12 she like..guh-ross...so i think the sutable age is like 12 above?!!?
i think that is a little early i started wearing make-up when i was 11 but only to church i could wear make-up when i was 12. if you aunt thinks it is okay then i think you should let her decide, and if by some awful incident she has passes on then it should be up to the guardian.
I think ten is a good age. Just a little powder, some eyeshadow and some gloss, but wait for eyelind and mascara
Ten is too young, unless it's Smackers or something. I started wearing makeup at 13. But, if your cousin really wants to wear makeup, humor her by giving her a makeover. But emphasize that it's just for fun and she's too young to bother with wearing it every day.
10 is too young....the only thing 10 year old girls should be wearing is lip gloss and glitter........maybe when they get into there teens it would be ok but dont start heavy.....lip stick and eye shadows......then a little later eye liner and mascarra would be ok.............dont rush your childhood......IT SUX GETTING OLDER!!!
No I don't think ten is a good age thats too young! I was in sixth grade and I put on all this makeup and my friends were all are you wearing makeup???!!! So i would say high school or ninth grade.
at that age i think that a lil lip gloss wouldnt hurt her but i think a good age 2 start is F1 witch is about 12 13 years of age that when i think i started wearing make up. Also if you showed her how much to put to make her look like a young lady not like a doll then she shouldnt look fine
No earlier than 13

10 is way too young!!!

For little girls... such as 10, they could wear light lip gloss or nail polish, but not eye shadow, lip stick, eye liner, etc.
if u look good in it SURE!!!!

totally man i started wearing makeup when i was like 11 and its all gooodddd
