How many sections make up a full size parachute?

I can't find this anywhere. How many sections make up a full size parachute?
It depends on the type of parachute you are talking about. Round parachutes or RAM air parachutes. I'm a skydiver have jump RAM airs. The construction of these parachutes have a top skin, bottom skin and ribs in between. We talk about having ';cells.'; Some of the first RAM airs had 5 cells, but now all RAM airs have either 7 or 9 cells. I personally jump a 7 cell Performance Designs Spectre. I love that canopy! The nice thing about the construction of the parachute is that it doesn't matter if it is a 99 square foot canopy or a 290 square foot canopy, the construction is the same.

check out performance designs web site to see some of the canopies they build and there is a lot of good info on flight characteristics and construction, materials and such on the site. http://www.performancedesigns.com/

http://www.paragear.com is a good place to find more parachute manufactures as well. How many sections make up a full size parachute?
They are called ';gores';... and it varies from design to design.

I can't recall what the standard was for the T-10 (US Army paratroopers chute), or the Navy Standard Ejection seat chute.

I Hope someone can provide further data
