At what age should girls start wearing make-up?

I'd like a few opinions, please. At what age should girls start wearing make-up?
15 years old....but very light make up.

17 years old....they can get more creative with it.

any younger than 15 they should just be experimenting with colorful cute lipgloss. At what age should girls start wearing make-up?
Whenever you want to, as long as it's appropriate.
Lip gloss is fine at 14, but anything else I'd wait til my daughter was at least 16 plus. Take them to a professional to teach them the proper way to apply makeup. iMost dept stores will do that with a minimum purchase. Clinique is great for ';newbies';. Most young girls don't need a lot. A simple application of concealer, powder, blush, mascara and gloss is more than enough for most new makeup ';virgins'; Proper skincare knowledge is far more important than makeup application at that age. The earlier the better.

i started wearing makeup when i was 10 years old. but only lipgloss and a little mascara and im 14 now.
Well, it all depends. But I would say that girls should wear a small amount of makeup when they are around 12 or in the seventh grade. They should only wear lip GLOSS and maybe some mascara and neutral eye shadows unless it is a special occasion like a wedding and then they can be a little more made up. In High school then they can wear eyeliner, colored eyeshadow, and lipstick. Don't let them go overboard though!
Well I just started wearing make-up my freshman year. [i'm a sophmore now.] I don't wear A LOT. I wear eyeliner, mascara, foundation, and chapstick. But if I go out to a dinner, dance, or whatever I'll add eyeshadow, lip gloss, and an extra coat of mascara.

So basically it's up to you. But don't over do the make-up. You don't wanna look fake and that your hiding something. People wanna see the real you. Use make-up as just an enhancement to your natural beauty.
I think once they are enough into puberty where theyre starting to look older they could start to wear a little mascara and lipgloss then mayb some eyeliner and then go from there..see what the other girls at school are doing...and if shes ready..if shes asking for it then give her a little ...def not if shes in 6th grade or younger. id say 7th and up.
In your 20's.

I started wearing mascara when I 18 and working.

I'm 24 and i do not wear any foundation, or anything like that.

When you are young, your skin is at it's best, why cover it up.
Well its all depends if you feel comfortable with it. I started in the middle of eighth grade, but all I wore was some eyeliner, blush ,mascara and lip gloss and sometimes concealer. That was pretty much all i need, but now that I am going into High School i want to add some eyeshadow to add some glam. It all depends on if you are comfortable with it and you dont want to look like you are wearing a mask. Try to look pretty. not fake.
i say when u start High School =]
around when they start middle school
i started at 12 in the seventh grade, and i think thats good. i kinda started a little bit late, though i did it on the first day of seventh grade, a few girls wore it in 6th
i started when i was about 11ish. but no madder when u start 2 use make-up, just b sure it looks natural so that u don't look fake
If you have good skin you do not have to wear make up generally.

Then when you start dating very light make up is good.

Sometimes the make up looks better on a clown.

I think about sixteen is the time to understand make up.Not just make up.

Color , toning. blending are essential when planning to make up.This is from guys point of view. I love my dates to look fresh . So if you over do it you will look a mess and no one will tell you.
Start off with something simple when they're about 10 or in 5th grade, which ever one you want. Just for special occasions or start with lip gloss, the basics. Then move up depending on how you see fit. Those who are ready (They don't mess around and are serious enough but not ultra serious) should start going into more complex and harder make up as soon as they can handle it. Don't go to fast, but don't go to slow.
i personally dont agree with this answer.................but around 17 18 is the best for you however, there are girls wearing makeup at as young as 12
I didnt start until 11th grade, but thats cause i was a tom boy up till then. Whenever it feels right!!! Dont worry about what everyone else is doing!
I had make up when I was about 13... my dad hated it, but my mom was the one who bought it. I think it also depends on the maturity level of the individual girl. I think 15-ish is a pretty safe age for girls to wear make up, but I wouldn't encourage them to wear a whole routine (foundation, power, liners, shadows, mascara)... I'd say let them experiment with a few things... like maybe only mascara and gloss ect... but really, what would it hurt for them to find their own make up routine? The thing to really watch out for would be to make sure that she understands that beauty is from within-- not from a tube of lipstick or pair of shoes.
well i started at the age of 13, however i feel that a girl should begin experimenting at the age of 16 and go full fledge at 17 you are considered an adult at 18, 17 is a good age.
some start as young as 12 but this affects the skin in the later years. wait till u r at least 16-18
well, im ten and i love makeup! i don't go to drastic but eye shadow colors are fun to play with and lipgloss and maybe some mascara????? also maybe a little blush! hope this helps and remember don't be afraid to play with colors!
well personally i started wearing makeup The summer i went into 6th grade so around 10 to 11 but listen if you hold these girls off to long their going 2 have all kinds of skin issues like wrinkles and sun spots BELIEVE IT OR NOT make up actually protects their face from UVB and UVA rays those are harmful sun rays that can really damage your skin
