Why dont adverts ever include expensive make up?

Ok silly question but makes like MAC, clinique, Lamcome never really get advertised on tv. Unlike Rimmel, bourjois etc why is this? Why dont adverts ever include expensive make up?
Good question, but I would assume they don't need to advertise as much as they are very established, very good quality brands. Also, they sell to the older consumer more, who generally knows what product they like and are brand loyal. The brands you mentioned appeal to the teen/younger market who tend to be more fickle. Why dont adverts ever include expensive make up?
They advertise in newspapers where the clothing sales ads are and in women's magazines to aim directly to their targeted audience, which is of course, women!
As andromeda says, it is due to market segmentation. Those brands are targetting ABC1 clients, i.e older, discerning, and prepared to spend extra. When you visit those beauty counters they will give you freebies to try on the basis that it helps to strengthen and retain brand loyalty ... and it works.
I think it's because they are already established as a reputable brand
Yes they do get advertise!!
Because they make so much money already by robbing the public.
they advertise in specialised magazine such as marie claire or vogue because they have a specific target audience.

tv commercial are meant to target a very large audience.

however the clientele for these brands come from a high income earning group which means ppl who have a lot to spend.
